The case, which challenged the Calcutta High Court’s verdict, was formally withdrawn by the state. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) government had originally approached the Supreme Court after the High Court cancelled the inclusion of 77 communities in the OBC list. With the withdrawal, the legal challenge before the Supreme Court has come to an end.
