The court has sought details on the action taken against more than 500 identified illegal constructions. It has also asked how many illegal structures have been removed. The court wants to know how much of the wetlands has been restored to its original condition. Reports have been sought from the Kolkata Municipal Corporation and the East Kolkata Wetlands Management Authority. A report has also been sought from the South 24 Parganas Zilla Parishad. Justice Sinha has directed the authorities to submit a compliance report on the implementation of the court’s orders. The reports must be filed by August 14.
